Clear Fell and Thinning
Using our low impact Hitachi ZX85, with a Keto 51 Eco Harvesting Head and 600mm wide tracks, we can minimise ground damage. It is small enough to work on Sites of Special Scientific Interest but is big and powerful enough for efficient production.
Extraction of Timber
Our lightweight Valmet 6400 and trailer with 7m crane has an unloaded weight of around 5.5 Tonnes. The equivalent purpose-built forwarder, with the same carrying capacity, weighs more than 14 tonnes. This means our machine has much lower ground impact when we access sites and this minimises damage.
Winching
Very steep ground isn’t an issue for us as we have an 8.5 tonne Skidding Winch allowing us to deal with trees safety on some of the toughest, steep sites.
Hand Cutting
All our operatives are experienced and qualified hand cutters who can deal with any size tree.
Chipping
Our 10 Inch Grab Fed Chipper enables us to leave your site much tidier which can reduce brash by up to ten times. We are then able to use these chippings for biomass fuel.
Planting
One of the most important aspects of sustainable forestry is planting. We can liaise with customers to create planting plans as well as carry them out.
Access Tracks
We can organise the construction of low impact tracks to access woodlands for essential management and to extract timber.
Woodland management
Woodland needs to be managed to remain healthy and we can organise management plans and tree surveys.
